The Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. "Love is not emotional bash; it is not empty sentimentalism. It is the active outpouring of one’s whole being into the being of another.” On the anniversary of King’s death, and during this time of Lent, when we see a journey by Jesus that will lead to his crucifixion, I think of these words by Rev. King. Jesus showed us the way to outpouring love through giving his whole being out of love for the world.

"And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us" (Romans 5:5). I hope your day is filled with an outpouring of love.
