A Hunger for Togetherness

The Coronavirus pandemic has been surreal, almost unbelievable. I sometimes feel as though I'm in one of those sci-fi movies. Is this an episode of the Twilight Zone?

One thing I do know in the midst of these bizarre times is that I have discovered more deeply how much our church family values being together physically for Sunday worship services.

Don't get me wrong, the YouTube video recordings of our worship services have been tremendously appreciated and meaningful.

But they just can't compare to actually joining together on Sunday morning in our beloved church building. Of course it is not the building that we really miss, as beautiful as it is. What we really miss is being with another face to face. The hugs, the holding hands, the laughter.....the love.

There is a lot of truth to the old proverb, "absence makes the heart grow fonder."

As I make phone calls to our church family (I'm making my way through the entire church directory), I keep hearing how everyone misses being together. I think how much excitement and joy there will be when we reunite. I look forward to that day with extreme eagerness!
