Come on a church trip to the

Green McAdoo Cultural Center

The Green McAdoo Cultural Center and Museum in Clinton, Tennessee, tells the compelling story of twelve high school students, who in 1956, braved threats of violence to attend Clinton High School, making it the first desegregated public high school in the South.  Tennessee holds the honor of having the first black graduate from an integrated public high school in the South after the Brown vs Board of Education landmark decision.  The Green McAdoo Cultural Center and Museum follows the chronologically detailed story of the 1956 desegregation of Clinton High School in life-size pictures with dramatic narrative and a movie presentation.

We will meet at the church parking lot and depart at 9:00 a.m., on January 28.  In route back to the Glade we will stop for lunch.  To RSVP, please contact the church office.  For more information, please contact Pastor James or John McArthur.

We now have a PATRIOTIC section to our Card Ministry in the Fellowship Hall.  Let's all participate in writing notes of encouragement and thanks to our military - Active, Reserve and Veterans.  Your cards will be collected and sent to those serving our country (past and present) and will generate TREMENDOUS BLESSINGS for all!

Seeking Photos of Church Members in Uniform!

Janiece Pino requests photographs of any current or past servicemen and women of the church to be placed in an Honor Album for the church.  Please go through your treasured photos and select ONE; noting the person's NAME, YEAR taken and Branch of Service.  These can be given to Janiece who will display the album at our "Cards to Military" table.   If you prefer to provide a copy of your photo, notify Frank Wade after church service, and he can scan and print the photo for the album.
