Rev. Dr. James Janecek

Rev. Dr. James Janecek was born and raised in south Texas. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Army, serving in the medical services eight years, which included living in Denmark and Iceland as well as being deployed to the former country of Yugoslavia. He then departed the Army to attend graduate school to become an ordained minister. After ordination, he served as associate pastor and senior pastor of Hispanic churches in the Corpus Christi area, during which time he married his best friend, Lilly Flores. Pastor James later returned to the military, this time serving in the Air Force as a chaplain, which included living in Spain and Germany as well as being deployed to the Middle East and Central America. He retired from the Air Force in 2017 and soon thereafter became pastor of Community Church. Lilly and Pastor James have two sons and four grandchildren. Lilly is an avid tennis player and Pastor James pretends to play golf. The couple spends most of their free time enjoying the outdoors.
